One Mission.
I’m Mike Pearse, and I’ve spent the last 20 years navigating the evolving landscape of the internet. From the early days of static webmasters to the complex, high-performance server environments of today, I’ve seen it all. I’ve spent two decades in the trenches of Web Design and Server Management. I’ve managed everything from small-scale boutique websites to complex server architectures. But through every project, my philosophy has remained the same: Technology should serve the human, not the other way around.
My journey in the Web Design and Server Management space has taught me one vital thing: complexity is the enemy of progress. My clients don’t need more “features” they need their technology to work, to be fast, and to be theirs. I bring twenty years of “battle-tested” experience to every interaction. When you work with me, you aren’t just hiring a technician; you’re gaining a partner who understands the nuances of server performance, the intricacies of WordPress, and the vital importance of a secure, private digital footprint.
Why Byron Bay? I chose to build Powderworks Media in Byron Bay because this community thrives on independence and authenticity. I wanted to bring that same spirit to the digital world.
My approach is different because I don’t just look at the “front end” (how the site looks). I look at the “architecture” (how the data flows). With two decades of experience, I ensure your business isn’t just a pretty face on the web, but a robust, secure, and privately-owned digital asset.
They say that in the tech world, twenty years is a lifetime. In some ways, it is.
I’ve watched the internet evolve from the “Wild West” of the early web to the hyper-connected, data-heavy landscape we live in today. I’ve seen the rise of the “Cloud” a beautiful metaphor for a centralized system where we slowly gave up our data for the sake of convenience.
I started Powderworks Media because I saw a growing problem. Businesses and individuals in were being sold “convenient” as a way to trade away their privacy. They were being sold “easy” at the cost of their autonomy. I wanted to provide a third option: Power.
When you reach out to me, you’re getting a local expert who cares about the longevity of your business and the integrity of your data. Let’s build something that lasts, something that is yours, and something that truly powers your vision.
